If there’s one thing I love about the holiday season besides spending time with my family, it’s decorating home for the holidays. I have always been a lover of home decor, but there’s something about decorating for the fall and winter seasons that places me that much more into the holiday spirit. There are so many cute, fun, affordable, and easy ways to switch things up around the house that I just have to share them with you!
1. Holiday Candles
Anyone who knows me, knows I love a good candle. Being able to relax in a calm and peaceful setting while your favorite candle burns throughout the house is an incredible feeling. Bath & Body Works is known to carry some of the best holiday candle scents. I have been known to purchase their 3-wick candles more so than the single wick only because the 3-wick gives a more powerful aroma and would typically last longer. A few of my holiday favorites and recommendations include Winter Candy Apple, Twisted Peppermint, Frosted Cranberry, and Apple Pumpkin Pancakes.
2. Holiday Throw Pillows
Another easy way to decorate your home this season is to change out your usual throw pillows for a splash of Santa, a few snowflakes, and words easily associated with the Christmas holiday. While Christmas shopping over the weekend, I spotted several of the cutest holiday throw pillows at Target. They are extremely affordable and a perfect way to add a pop of color to your home this season.
Other stores to include on your search for festive throw pillows include Walmart, At Home, T J Maxx, and Marshalls.
3. Christmas Wreath
While this may seem like such a small deal, it’s a great way to add life to your home this Christmas. I recently purchased a gorgeous holiday wreath from At Home for just $20. So, if you’re not going to decorate the outside of your home this year, I would say this is perfect for you. It still says Happy Holidays, but without the fancy bright lights. After all, they are making wreaths more and more gorgeous each year.
4. Holiday Figurines
Adding holiday figurines to your home are a cute and fun way to decorate for the Christmas season. They are typically placed on coffee tables, end tables, mantelpieces, and in other areas around the house. Holiday figurines can be found just about anywhere that sells seasonal decor!
5. Fruits & Candies
As a little girl I always enjoyed being able to indulge in the endless amount of fruits and candies my grandma would have on display for the holidays. Apples, oranges, pecans, walnuts, M & M’s, and old fashioned hard candies were all apart of her presentation. This too is also a great way to spice up your home this Christmas, especially if you typically have a lot of guests over during the holiday season!
With so many fun and easy ways to decorate your home for the Christmas holiday, I hope I was able to provide a few suggestions to get you going and to put you into the holiday spirit. With Christmas just around the corner, you should be able to find some really good deals in store and online at some of the retailers listed throughout this post. I hope it helps!
