“… It wasn’t often that I was able to travel outside of Virginia, but now I’m in a much better position to do that and I see no better opportunity to do so than now.”
It wasn’t too long ago that I made the decision to obtain a U.S. Passport.
One day, I found myself sitting at work feeling so uninspired and completely bored with the stillness of my everyday life, which consists strictly of work and home. Now, let’s not confuse being bored with being unhappy. I am very happy. I am happy with not only how my life has changed within the last year or so, but I am even more happy that I now have the opportunities and resources available to me to be able to embark on what could be a life-changing experience for me. And although I love my city, I just know that there has to be more to life than just my repetitive routine. That’s what brought about the thought of getting a passport.
But wait, is it weird that I’m actually nervous about traveling? All of these years, I’ve been so embedded into my life here in Virginia, that the thought of traveling to places so far and abroad makes my palms sweat just a little. But you know what they say, “If your dreams don’t make you nervous, they’re not big enough!”
While I do want to travel to experience life outside of the norm, I also believe that those who travel more live longer and just has an overall more positive view and perspective on life. Truth be told, I want to know what that’s like. It wasn’t too often that I was able to travel outside of Virginia, but now I’m in a much better position to do that and I see no better opportunity to do so than now. There’s a whole world out there and I wanna see it!
