It’s safe to say that fall is in full swing. I mean, temperatures are dropping, pumpkin spice products are filling the shelves, and everyone is beginning to transition their wardrobes to thicker fabrics and darker hues. It is definitely my favorite time of the year!
But how exactly do you incorporate your love for fall into your daily life? To help answer that question, I’ve come up with a list of different ways to indulge in the cooler temperatures and to make the most of these next couple of months. You know, kind of like a fall preparation guide!
5 Ways To Incorporate Fall Into Your Daily Life
1. Switch Up Your Home Decor
Trading in your summer decor for autumn decor is the perfect way to kickstart your fall transition. Everything from throw pillows, rugs, decorative objects, and floral arrangements can make a great impact on the look and feel of your home. I would highly recommend adding a throw blanket or two also. It will add another level of cozy, I promise!
2. Switch Up Your Workplace Decor
If you’re anything like me, you spend more time at work than you do at home, so you treat your workplace just the same. Last week, I took a trip to TJ Maxx in search of a few autumn knickknacks for my desk. I ended up purchasing an artificial sunflower floral arrangement, two pumpkins, and a picture that reads “fall in love.” It was not a major purchase, but it did add just the splash I needed.
3. Enjoy A Nice, Warm Drink
Hot chocolate, tea, lattes, or hot apple cider; there’s nothing more cozy about the fall time than being able to enjoy a nice, warm drink!
4. It’s All About Sweaters, Boots, & Scarves
Ok, so it’s pretty obvious that fashion plays one of the biggest roles in why this time of the year is so highly anticipated to most. I mean, cozy sweaters, cute boots, patterned scarves, and an oversize tote bag is all a girl needs on her list of fall essentials. Now, not all the time do we have a large budget to spend on a brand new fall wardrobe; that is why I suggest visiting your local thrift store or creating a few different looks with pieces from your closet!
5. Go Wine Tasting
Here in Virginia, it’s October Virginia Wine Month. So, if you’re anything like me, you often enjoy great conversation over a glass of red, white, sparkling, or desert wine, which is why I believe wine tasting is a great idea!
Visit your local tourism website to stay up-to-date with any events or festivals happening in your city this fall!
As much as I adore this time of the year and while there are many more tips and suggestions I could provide to help keep you busy this fall, like pumpkin patch hayrides and apple picking, I have to save something for our next chat. However, I would love to hear from you and a few activities you would suggest to someone looking to include autumn in their everyday routine!
