Things You Should Be Writing Down To Better Organize Your Life

I believe the saying goes “new week, new goals” or something like that. Anyway, as we prepare for the start of a new work week, I thought it would be a great idea to start thinking of simple ways to better organize our personal lives so that we can focus on and excel in our professional lives. If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for the perfect balance between the two.

The inspiration for this post came about as I was putting together my grocery list for one of my early morning store runs. Sure, creating a grocery list is a common thing, but the ease it puts on adulting is something to rave about. Let me tell you, I would be completely lost without my list and I’m talking waffles no syrup, cereal no milk, and bagels no cream cheese kind of lost. Okay, I may not be that bad, but you get it.

I’ve always been an advocate for a notebook and pen, so it should come as no surprise that I’m advocating for you to use the below techniques as a way to help bring some organization to your daily life!

Write Out Your Grocery List

As I stated earlier, I would be completely lost without my grocery list. While most people look at shopping with a grocery list as a way to prevent forgetting things, other benefits include saving money, time, and a great tool for meal planning.

Write Down All of Your Bills

Not only will writing down all of your bills help to organize your life, but it also helps to keep track of your expenses, which ultimately leads to saving money. I have a simple notepad that I picked up from Marshalls where I jot down the bill type, the amount, due date, and date paid. Trust me, it helps.

Write Out A List of Goals

Who says you have to wait until the new year to develop a list of goals? Writing out your goals will force you to clarify what you want and motivate you to take action.

Keep A Journal

There is nothing worse than not being able to focus due to mental clutter. This does happen to me from time to time, so I do like to keep a journal to transfer my thoughts into. I also use Suite 3869 as a way to declutter my mind as well.
