5 Ingredients For The Perfect Christmas Movie Night In

Well, it’s officially December and I’m super excited. One of my favorite things to do around this time of year is to dedicate an evening at home to watching some of my favorite holiday movies with a warm drink and a throw blanket, preferably after I’ve decorated for Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I love those cold weather nights in, complete with Christmas decor aesthetic. I’ve put together a list of things you’ll need to create that perfect holiday night in for both you and your family to enjoy!

Holiday Movies

Although this list is in no particular order, holiday movies are essential to planning the perfect night in. I mean, what’s a holiday movie night without your favorite films? Anyone who knows me knows that my Christmas movie collection is not complete without Home Alone 1 & 2. While I do enjoy all three, the Macaulay Culkin editions are my favorite. Also making the list is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. What are a few of your favorite Christmas movies?

Christmas Cookies

Now that we’ve established a movie collection, it’s time to start baking! Whether you want to browse Pinterest for Christmas dessert recipes or settle for your favorite Ready To Bake pre-cut cookies, sweet treats are a must when planning your Christmas movie night. Personally, I usually just go for the pre-cut cookies because it’s easier, but when I have a little more time, I may attempt new recipe!

Holiday Beverage

Some may prefer hot chocolate, eggnog, wine, or even peppermint white hot chocolate as their drink of choice for a cozy night in. Either way, this is another one of those essentials to include on your list. Since the temperatures have dropped significantly here in Virginia, I can’t tell you how many cups of hot chocolate and peppermint mochas I’ve had. When I tell you I’m completely obsessed with this time of year and all of the little things that come along with it, I’m not even kidding.

Soups or Chili

Soups or chili is always a great idea during the colder months and the perfect addition to your Christmas movie night in. It’s hot, comforting, and not so heavy; that way you’ll still have room for cookies and other sweet treats! Doesn’t this Tortellini Soup with Italian Sausage & Spinach look amazing? It is also a must that you check out this delicious Slow Cooker Chili Mac recipe featured on Suite 3869. It’s soooooooo good!

Throw Blanket & Fuzzy Socks

One of the main things I enjoy about movie night is creating that cozy environment. If you follow me on Instagram, you have more than likely taken notice to the fact that I always keep a throw blanket nearby as part of my living room decor. A throw blanket can add an element of comfort and relaxation to any movie night and I highly recommend it.  I would also suggest a pair of cute and fuzzy socks or slippers. It doesn’t necessarily have to be holiday themed, just something comfortable!
